Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: I Have Had My Carpet Cleaned Before And It Took Days To Dry. With Ultra Clean, LLC , How Long Does It Take For The Carpet To Dry?

A: At Ultra Clean, we add extra steps to our cleaning process that most carpet cleaners do not include, which helps reduce the dry time. We take extra vacuum stokes to ensure the removal of as much excess moisture as possible, we set up specially designed fans (air movers, depending on the package chosen) as we clean in order to increase airflow and greatly reduce the dry time.

Our typical dry time is usually 4 to 8 hours, but dry time can be affected by the temperature and humidity inside the home.

Set the temperature to 71 degrees (2) two hours prior to arrival. (Warmer/Cooler depending on the outside temperature to reduce dry times.)

It is completely safe to walk on the carpet as long as you feel comfortable walking on clean carpet. Shoes that are wore outside the home, should not be worn when walking on wet carpet. Feel free to ask your service technician for a complimentary pair of shoe coverings.

Q: Is A Fabric Protector Applied To The Carpet?

A: The application of Fabric Protector is an additional service we offer. Most carpet manufacturers apply a topical fabric protector “ScotchGard” to their carpets during manufacturing. With time, this added layer of protector could be worn down or removed by harsh cleaning chemicals. Your carpet’s ability to resist soiling and staining would be reduced over time, allowing spots and spills to become stains. Sure, there are dozens of stain repellent products to choose from, but how many of them are safe to use in your home, won’t void your manufacturer warranty, won’t change the texture, smell, or appearance of your carpet? Only one product can stand by all of this tough criteria; ScotchGard Carpet & Upholstery Protector. We are strong affiliates with ScotchGard and only carry the ScotchGard Brand. That’s how much we believe in the product.

Q: Does Ultra Clean Give A Warranty Upon Application Of ScotchGard?

A: Yes, when applied to all areas of the house.

Q: Why Does Ultra Clean Give A Warranty When Applied to All Areas Of The Home?

A: Many companies offer ScotchGard protector, but don’t have any kind of warranty; so your probably thinking, why do we do they do this? Better yet, you might ask, why do we do this for free? Well the answer is upfront. plain, and simple; just like our pricing. We provide this FREE service to display our confidence in this particular product.

Q: How Long Does The Warranty Last?

A: This Limited Warranty provides free spot and spill removal calls for common house hold “food and drink spills” for 12 months from the application date. This warranty is given when it is applied to all areas of the home. This warranty does NOT provide free spotting calls for:

  • Pet urine, feces or vomit removal
  • Paint or otherwise permanent stains
  • Water or sewer damage
  • Oil-based stains
  • Dirty and/or worn “traffic lanes”
Q: How Do You Treat Pet Stains And Odor? Is There An Extra Charge For The Treatment?

A: Ultra Clean understands that pet accidents happen, causing odor and discoloration in your floor coverings. If not properly treated, biological matter such as urine can create a breeding ground for bacteria and an unhealthy environment. Most of our Pet Treatments require additional cost and the technician will discuss those cost options before beginning treatment.

Any service recommended by a technician is optional. If you decline a pet treatment it does void our 30-day, 20 day, and 14 day guarantee for that area of your home.

If there is concern over a biological issue we will inspect the carpet with a special UV light that helps illuminate contaminates in the carpet. Our trained certified cleaning technicians will review the condition of the carpet, the severity of the biological contamination and what the options are to treat the spots.

Our certified technicians will be able to discuss all the options, costs and solutions with you when they inspect your home and review the existing conditions.

Q: What Can You Do About Residue Left Behind From “Do it Yourself” spotting chemicals or Other Cleaning Companies?

A: Harmful soaps and detergents left behind by “Do it Yourself” spotting chemicals or improper cleaning techniques can create a sticky mess. Soaps and detergents are engineered to attract dust and dirt and if left in your carpet, they will continue to attract dust and dirt making your carpet re-soil quickly. If you do not use Ultra Clean, the next carpet cleaner will most likely add a new layer of sticky soaps and detergents to your carpet, thereby compounding the problem.

What is needed is to neutralize and remove the sticky residue that has been left behind. By pre-conditioning and agitating the carpet with a VLM power scubbing machine, we start to break down the residues in your carpet. Thoroughly rinsing the carpet with an all fiber rinse, we are able to flush out almost, if not the existing soils and residue. Depending on the level of residue that has bonded to your carpet fibers, we may not be able to break it all down the first time we clean.

After cleaning with Ultra Clean, it is important to not add new soaps or detergents back into the carpet. If you run into an issue or have a problem area, then just give us a call and we will happily walk you through the proper way to get rid of the problem area.

Q: What About Area Rugs? Can You Clean Them In The Home Or Do You Take Them Off-Site?

A: We can clean some types of area rugs in your home as long as there are not biological issues in the rug (such as urine, blood, feces or vomit) and there is an appropriate surface to clean them on. For example we would not want to clean an area rug on top of your beautiful hardwood floors, for this could damage your hardwood floors. Also a rug cleaned onsite can not be properly cleaned. It would need to be taken offsite to be properly cleaned. Cleaning a rug on-site is like taking your “Suite” or “Formal Dress” and throwing it in the washer. It’s something you just don’t do. You would take these to a dry cleaners to have them properly cleaned. Same goes for that rug, it’s something you want to avoid.

Ultra Clean is happy to provide you with a free on-site complimentary quote on cleaning your rug offsite as long as it’s within a 10 mile radius from the shop. Rugs over certain prices with receive “free pick-up and delivery”

Q: Do I Have To Be Home For The Cleaning

A: While we prefer that you or someone of accountable age be home during your appointment, it is not required. We do appreciate having someone there to confirm the areas that will be cleaned, discuss options and address any concerns we may encounter during the service.

All of our Service Technicians are employees, not sub-contractors and we are fully insured. Normally we collect payment when we have completed the work so if you are not going to be home, please make arrangements with our Customer Service Representative so we can gain access to the property (keys, codes and how we lock up when we are done) and make payment arrangements.

Q: How Often Should I Get My Carpet Cleaned?

A: How often your home or office needs to be cleaned is an individual and personal thing. Each property is different and things like the type of traffic and use, number of people, pets, outdoor environment, etc., contribute to the cleaning cycle.

Most Carpet Manufacture require you to have your carpets cleaned with Hot Water Extraction (HWE) every 12 to 18 months in order to maintain their warranty. Apply a Protector at least every 18 months will help you maintain your carpet’s warranty. Cleaning more frequently will extend the life of your carpet.

A: We ask that you have all the small items you want out of the room before we arrive or arrange with us to help you with moving the smaller items.

1.) Due to insurance policies, Ultra Clean Floor Care can not move large or heavy furniture like pianos, entertainment centers, bookcases, large beds or other similarly heavy items.

2.) We do not move TV’s, game systems, computers, lamps, antique, instrumental, glass, delicate, or high-value items.
